Head and Founder

After giving birth to my eldest daughter, Poppy, I decided to leave my career in the music business and prepare for parenthood by becoming a Montessori Teacher. Over 20 years ago and two more daughters later, Jemima and Sophie, I have never looked back! The sheer joy of being able to nurture a child's natural inquisitiveness and expand his/her horizons is so rewarding. In my spare time I enjoy relaxing with my family, going to the theatre, music, walking the family dog and looking after our two horses.

I set up Jelly Beans in 2004 and today I am delighted that we have grown the Jelly Beans family into a busy and popular Nursery.

Both my children have attended Jelly Beans and we instantly found a love for the Montessori approach. I could see how they excelled on a daily basis. I come from a Special Educational Needs school of 12 years starting here after qualifying with my Level 3 in childcare. I then decided to do my higher learning teaching assistant (HLTA) and studied for my Bachelor of Arts Open Degree studying courses all around childcare. I also have makaton sign language training which I have started using at Jelly Beans to teach to the children how to do some sign language. I love spending time with my family and going on lots of different adventures . Family days are my favourite. I have worked with children from the age of 16 and strive to improve my learning along the way with lots of different opportunities .

I have been working with children for over 13 years within the Hockley area. I decided to study childcare when my daughter was little and I’m so glad I did as it’s such a rewarding career and I love seeing children learn and develop their skills. I joined Jelly Beans day nursery in November last year and I feel proud to be part of such a great team. I have a level 2 and 3 qualification in childcare.

I have two children aged 15 & 19 and in my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, long walks with my dogs, love music and watching a good film or series.

Hi everyone, my name is Emma and I am based in the baby room at the Day Nursery. I thoroughly enjoy working at Jelly Beans as I love seeing the babies develop and hitting their milestones whilst making you smile every day. Also, I help out in the toddler room and the other Jelly Bean sites too which is always nice to work with the different age ranges. I find this job very rewarding when I know I can make a difference to each child and help them reach their full potential.

Hiya I’m Kyra and I have recently completed my level 2 apprenticeship in Childcare. I have been at Jelly Beans for 9 months now, and I’m really loving it. I have worked with all the ages throughout Jelly Beans, but currently I'm stationed in the

baby room. I enjoy watching their personalities shine and grow within their development. I also love encouraging and guiding them towards their milestones. In my spare time I hang out with friends and family, and my cat.

Hi, my name is Angel.

I chose to start a Level 2 apprenticeship in Childcare because I genuinely love working with children and want to make a positive difference in their lives. I wanted to learn in an environment whereby I can get the practical experience not just the theory side of experience, so this apprenticeship at Jelly Beans felt like the perfect way to grow both my skills and confidence in Childcare. It's important to me to understand how children develop and what they need to be able to thrive and feel safe and secure and reach their full potential.
