The Jelly Beans Nursery team
Emma Aldridge

Early Years Practitioner

I am a Level 3 qualified childcare practitioner returning back to work after being on maternity leave. I live closeby in Rochford with my husband and 2 year old son Jude. I am creative and love to get stuck in!

Sarah Drummond

Head and Founder

After giving birth to my eldest daughter, Poppy, I decided to leave my career in the music business and prepare for parenthood by becoming a Montessori Teacher. Over 20 years ago and two more daughters later, Jemima and Sophie, I have never looked back! The sheer joy of being able to nurture a child's natural inquisitiveness and expand his/her horizons is so rewarding. In my spare time I enjoy relaxing with my family, going to the theatre, music, walking the family dog and looking after our two horses.

I set up Jelly Beans in 2004 and today I am delighted that we have grown the Jelly Beans family into a busy and popular Nursery.

Bailey Pugh

Early Years Practitioner

I am a qualified Level 3 practitioner. I left school going straight into college to learn childcare and knew I wanted to work with children. My family also work within childcare and I grew up knowing that was what I wanted to do. Away from work I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I love to sing and I am a huge Disney fan. My future ambitions are to one day become a manager or have my own nursery and I am always keen to learn new things. I have always been interested in child psychology and maybe one day I will develop this further.

Lisa Oxenham

Office Manager

I have lived in Hockley for the past 14 years and I have four children ranging from the age of 5 up to 22 years old. I achieved a Degree in European Business after leaving school and I have been working in education for the past 15 years in various roles including teaching, learning support, pastoral administration and more recently a PA within an Academy Trust. Outside of the office I am very involved with my local church as well as enjoying time with my family, friends and walking my border collie.

Sandi Lovell

I’ve worked in childcare for over 17 years, in and around the Southend area and also in Peterborough and have recently achieved my Montessori Level 2 qualification. I’m a mum to 3 children, a son of 25 and 2 daughters of 21 and 19. I love spending time with my family and I'm a keen football fan with a season ticket to Southend United.

Melanie Bartlett

Deputy Manager

I joined Jelly Beans at the beginning of January 2018 after working for 10 years with Tumble Tots, during which time I studied and gained my Level 2 Childcare qualification. I’m very excited to be part of the team and it’s been lovely getting to know the children and work with them each day. I live locally with my husband, daughter and two lively Jack Russell’s and enjoy spending time on family dog walks, cinema, going to the theatre and listening to music.

Poppy Drummond

Early Years Practitioner

I came to Jelly Beans straight after university to work in the St Nicholas room before moving to the Open Air site. During that time I studied for my teaching qualification in Early Years. I have recently returned from New Zealand where I spent a year experiencing their Early years Curriculum (Te Whariki). Now I'm back in the St Nicholas room again and thoroughly enjoying developing my new skills with the children. I aboslutely love reading, especially Harry Potter.

Mimi Drummond

Early Years Assistant

I started off helping out at Jelly Beans as bank staff but over the months I have realised how much I love working with children so I am now studying for my Montessori Level 2 qualification. My other passion is acting and film and I have a degree qualification in Film Theory plus an Acting Diploma. I've been acting since I was a child and have recently been getting stuck in again with background roles on TV and Film.
